Safe Kids mission is to prevent unintentional injuries, the leading cause of death and disability in children.
Safe Kids Tulsa Area, led by The Children's Hospital at Saint Francis, is a group of organizations and concerned citizens who began to mobilize in early 1993 to fight the #1 killer of children, unintentional injuries. Affiliated with the Safe Kids Worldwide, Safe Kids Tulsa Area is dedicating its efforts to help raise awareness among the general public and policy makers through education, direct intervention programs and public policy initiatives.
Locally, Safe Kids Tulsa Area has given away thousands of bicycle helmets, smoke detectors and car seats and reached more than 200,000 children with "hands-on" safety programs.
