Healthy Yummy Foods

All you banana fans will love this thick mid-afternoon, after school snack.
1 cup vanilla ice cream
3/4 cup milk
1 banana
4 tablespoons chocolate syrup
Blend all the ingredients until smooth. Pour into two glasses and serve.

You'll want to try this out for lunch! These open-faced "friendly" sandwiches begin with a crispy shell. You can either purchase the shells or briefly fry corn tortillas in 2 tablespoons of oil.
Spread the shell with taco filling or refried beans and grated cheese, then arrange shredded lettuce for hair, olive slices for eyes, a carrot slice for a nose, and tomato pieces for lips.

You can bake treats for your favorite pet, too! In a large bowl, beat 3 eggs, then mix in 1/4 cup soy flour, 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast, 2 tablespoons wheat germ, 2 tablespoons instant dry milk, and 2 cups whole wheat flour.
Add 2 tablespoons water or enough to make the dough hold. Knead for 3 minutes, then spread to 1/2 inch thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut into "bones." Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake in a 325 degree oven for 25 minutes, flip, and bake 25 minutes more. Makes 7-10.

Use letter-shaped cutters to create names and words from the dough. Punch a hole in the top of each letter with a drinking straw. After baking the cookies for 10 minutes, cool and decorate. String then together on a piece of thin licorice.
